See what PDMSC would say about your own mail.
A module for your rspamd sends each message to live.pdmsc.com in one secure request and gets back three opinions: the PDMSC cascade and the two INTENT classifiers. It starts in observe-only mode, scoring at zero, so nothing about how your mail is handled changes until you decide it should.
01What you get
The cascade
PDMSC_SPAM_0..5 and PDMSC_HAM_0..5: the staged classifier's verdict and how sure it is, or undecided when it cannot say.
Class of mail
PDMSC_S1_<CLASS>: fraud, spam, bulk, transactional, list, personal or system, with its confidence.
Side by side
PDMSC_S2_<CLASS>: a similar model on a second engine, so you can compare the two on your own traffic.
- One request per message, however many of the three you enable.
- Observe-only by default. Every symbol scores 0 and says in its text what the production score would be, for example
p=0.85 147ms (would +10). - Every score is configurable when you are ready to use them.
- It fails open. If anything goes wrong your mail is delivered exactly as it would have been, with a zero-score note saying why.

Read first: TERMS.txt (the terms), README.txt (install and options) and LICENSING.txt (your key).
03Get a licence and an API key
The live service uses the same licence system as the PDMSC daemon: a message is scored for you only if your key belongs to an active licence. It takes about five minutes.
- Ask for access. Accounts are created by invitation. Email enquiries@misullivan.com and say you would like to try the live service. We create your company and a licence, and send you an invitation to confirm your email address and choose a password.
- Check your licence. Sign in at license.pdmsc.com. Under Licences your entry should say active.
- Create an API key. On your company page, under API keys, give the key a label, choose your
active licence, and click Create API key. The key starts with
pdl_and is shown once, so copy it. Make one key per server so you can revoke them separately. - Give it to rspamd with the setup tool below. The key is stored in a single file that only root and rspamd can read, never in rspamd's configuration.
04Install and configure
sudo apt install ./rspamd-pdmsc-live_1.0.0-1_all.deb # Debian / Ubuntu sudo rpm -i rspamd-pdmsc-live-1.0.0-1.noarch.rpm # RHEL / Rocky / Fedora / SUSE sudo pkg add ./rspamd-pdmsc-live-1.0.0.pkg # FreeBSD sudo ./install.sh # tarball: any other system
sudo pdmsc-live-setup --key pdl_YOUR_KEY --reload # store the key, configure rspamd, reload it sudo pdmsc-live-setup --test # check your key and licence in plain words
pdmsc-live-setup checks the configuration with rspamadm configtest and restores your
previous files unchanged if rspamd rejects it. It only ever writes its own files and one clearly marked block,
which pdmsc-live-setup --remove-config takes out again. Then look at some mail:
rspamc < some-message.eml | grep PDMSC PDMSC_SPAM_3 (0.00) [english x0.30 LL0|-1.117 LL1|-1.170 (would +9)] PDMSC_S1_FRAUD (0.00) [p=0.85 147ms (would +10)] PDMSC_S2_FRAUD (0.00) [p=0.85 51ms (would +10)]
When you are happy with what you see, sudo pdmsc-live-setup --scored --reload switches on the production
scores, and any individual score can be set in local.d/pdmsc_live_extra.inc. Each engine is its own
rspamd external_services rule (or one standalone section, if you prefer), and the one reply is also
available to your own Lua code.
05Terms, limits and privacy
- For individuals, evaluation and testing only. Not for an organisation's production mail flow, resale or running as a service for others. For production, use the PDMSC daemon on your own systems under a normal licence.
- It is scored in memory and not kept, and not written to temporary files: messages (2 MiB at most) are received and scored in memory only. Our gateway log records only your key id, the message size, the timings and the verdict classes: no Message-ID, subject or addresses. The scoring engines' own logs hold only scores and technical MIME-parse warnings.
- NDA on request. Our staff do not intercept or read your messages, and none is stored. If you or your organisation would like that in writing, we are happy to sign a general-purpose NDA covering your test data: enquiries@misullivan.com.
- For low and test volumes: 30 messages a minute per key (bursts of 10), one scan at a time per key, messages up to 2 MiB.
- No uptime guarantee, and the scores are an opinion, not a promise. A licence or service problem can stop PDMSC scoring; it can never stop your mail.
- You can stop sending mail at any time:
pdmsc-live-setup --remove-config --reload, or revoke your key. - Installing and configuring the module means you accept the full terms of the service.
- The module is free software. It is under the BSD 2-Clause licence (COPYRIGHT): copy, modify and redistribute it freely. That covers the code only; using this service still needs a key and the terms above.
Ask for a key.
Tell us a little about your mail setup and we will arrange a licence and an invitation.
