Licensed by mailbox, never metered in real time.
The mailbox count is set at the start of the year. If your mailboxes grow during the year, the licence keeps working and the difference is settled at renewal.
01The terms in brief
- Licensed by mailbox count, not by email address.
- The count is set at the start of the year.
- Growth mid-term does not interrupt service.
- Published banded rates are on the pricing page; larger deployments are quoted as one annual figure.
02What happens when a licence has a problem
A licence problem can stop the classifier. It can never stop your mail. When the classifier is not scoring, rspamd receives a neutral result and mail flows on unfiltered.
Logged, and mail flows
A missing or empty licence is logged and the daemon fails open.
Fails open, quietly decays
An expired licence fails open and is logged distinctly. Protection gradually weakens as spam changes, which is the enforcement.
Refuses to start
A damaged licence is reported clearly at startup rather than guessed at. A reload with a bad licence is refused and the running set keeps serving.
The classifier stops
A revoked licence stops classification. Revocation is signed and checked against a pinned key, so it cannot be forged.
03Licence service
Licences are validated against the PDMSC licence service at license.pdmsc.com, license.pdmsc.net and license.pdmsc.org. Your daemon contacts it in the background, never while a message is being scored. If the service cannot be reached, a valid licence keeps working through a grace period.
